Cakesmash Session
Cakesmash can be a fun and unforgettable experience for your child as they delve into cake with their hands and face. I love this shoot as I get the children exploring different tastes, having a good chuckle, and getting messy at the same time. In the first 15 minutes of the shoot will be a mini portrait session before the little one gets messy. There is an outfit change for the actual cakesmash to save your formal outfit from the portrait session getting dirty.
WHen to book?
The shoot can take place before the child turns one and can have the photos used as a birthday invitation. It can also be booked after their birthday to celebrate their new milestone. It would be helpful if shoots are booked in advance so I have time to prepare and make sure I have space within my busy schedule.
WHAT TO BRING?
For the shoot I will provide all backdrops, balloons and buntings with colour schemes and themes discussed beforehand. I will only provide an outfit for the actual cakesmash, the pre shoot before I would ask if they come dressed in outfit ready to take pictures straight away. If children are doing the splash session I would ask if they could bring a waterproof nappy to wear.
Cakesmash and SPLASH
Cakesmash can be combined with the splash session included so there are a lovely variety of images for your selection. The splash session is fun, bubbly, perfect for cleaning up after the cakesmash and great for capturing their little personalities. The splash section is not a milk bath and will be of the little one in a bubble bath. If you would like to combine the milk bath session with the cakesmash it will be an additional £20.
Allergies
If your child has any allergies please let me know in advance as I can make an alternative or provide a fruit cake instead which is just as yummy.
HOW LONG WILL THE SESSION LAST FOR
The session for the cakesmash will be 45 minutes long. The first 15 minutes will be a mini portrait shoot, the remaining time they will be tucking into their delicious cake. If you decide to do both cakesmash and splash the shoot will last 1 hour and a half.
Milk Bath Session
Milk bath sessions are a great way to capture your child splashing away in the bath with fruit and flowers to decorate for art. It can be very intricate in detail displaying their cute features and cheeky smile. A luke warm bath with a splash of milk makes the water misty so the children are covered when in the bath. Being 1 is a short term memory and I believe that taking photos of these moments are a great way to document their growth.
When to do the shoot?
I would recommend at 10 months up as It is best to do these shoots with children which can sit up by themselves independently whilst in the water. The child's safety is the most important thing when doing the shoot.
How long will the session last
The session will last for 45 minutes, with the first 15 minutes being a mini photo shoot in a cute formal outfit then 30 minutes in the mini tub.
What to bring
For the mini portrait shoot, I would ask if you could provide a cute outfit and correspond with me so it can fit the theme of the background colours and decorations. The milk bath just requires a waterproof nappy and I will provide everything else.
Themes
The mini tub can be decorated with fruits such as oranges, lemons, limes and strawberries plus more. These fruits are healthy and keep the child occupied as they float in the bath. To compliment the fruits I could also add flowers inside and out of the bath to create a picturesque photo that can be framed and used as art one day. Before the shoot we can correspond on what colours work well and what fruits they like, and I can add matching hairbands or head pieces.
