The blessing of a new soul coming into this earth is the truest form of a miracle. Newborn babies are a pleasure to photograph. All shoots I carry out are quite diverse and I can cater to each client if they communicate with me exactly what they want. If clients are looking for direction and ideas for a shoot I am more than happy to guide you on the possible options as I have plenty of props to choose from. I understand that babies can be uncomfortable and begin to cry, please do not feel uneasy about this. The good thing about a baby crying is that it can only be 4 things; they are hungry, have wind, are too hot or need a nappy change. I want this to be a memorable time for you and your family and friends especially when they view the final images.
I think that it is important to prepare for the shoot in advance. During pregnancy the shoot should be booked, based on the due date I will schedule in a rough estimated date that will work for both me and you. Once the baby is between 5-15 days old it is the best time to take their photographs. At this age newborns are less likely to be awoken from sleep easily, they are smaller in size and fit into the props easier. Baby acne is less likely to have arose and they are easier to place in poses that can be a little trickier as they start to get older.
I will provide props, baskets, blankets, wraps and headbands or you are more than welcome to bring something of your own. I would suggest if you have any personalised items that may have the babies name on it, or something that has sentimental value can be added for an extra special image. If you would like to recreate an image that you have seen, feel free to communicate with me before hand. I can see if I can get props in time to match what you desire.
Depending on whether it is a mini or full shoot the time will vary. In the full session you will have between 2-3 hours, the mini shoot is a 1 hour long shoot. In order to make the most out of the time that we have baby should be fed before arriving or when they arrive so they are ready to sleep. I understand that with a newborn timings of feeds and sleeping patterns can be quite irregular. If during the shoot babies need an extra feed or a nappy change, that would be essential as keeping the baby comfortable is my main focus. Having an extra bottle of milk or a pacifier at hand would be a great help to get baby to settle.
All shoots will take place in my studio located in Uxbridge, which is a 2 minute drive away from Hillingdon Hospital. I will provide you with the address before we do the shoot.
Thank you for taking the time to have a read of this page, if you have any further quieres please send me a message and I will get back to you promptly.
